About Eric Tufte
I build the planning and forecasting systems finance teams run on.
I started my career in finance at Amazon and moved into engineering and data science from there. I've been the analyst waiting on the data and the engineer building the pipeline it comes from. Most of my work now sits between those two jobs.
At Amazon I worked in operations finance for fulfillment centers and transportation, starting as a financial analyst and ending as a finance manager. I then joined a data team at AWS that supported talent acquisition, where I worked up to senior BI engineer. At Walmart I was a principal data scientist in supply chain finance. In those years I led a variation-reduction initiative that saved $6.2MM at a single distribution center.
I joined Openvale Group as a Senior Manager in March 2026. OVG is a boutique consulting firm specializing in corporate performance improvement, and its website describes its Agentic Performance Management approach as the non-proprietary, AI-native successor to CPM and EPM. I lead delivery across client engagements and build the internal tools our consultants work from.

Day to day I work in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, Python and DAX, and I use Claude and Claude Code throughout. I live in Nashville, Tennessee, and work remotely.
